• The Skadar Lake Basin (Podgorica Plain): This is the most important and largest wine-growing area in Montenegro. • Krstač: The most significant white indigenous grape in Montenegro. Krstač is primarily grown in the Skadar Lake basin. It produces dry white wines that are typically full-bodied, with moderate acidity and notes of stone fruit or herbs. Its name means "cross," reportedly because the grape cluster resembles a cross.
